Corsair HS70 Pro white noise and buzzing

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Yes, I know there's a hundred threads already but I've tried every available fix. The left ear cup is buzzing like mad, and the headset has white noise coming out left, right, and center.

I've tried...

Reinstalling firmware

Disabling sidetone

Using different USB (both front and back/directly on motherboard)

Mic connected/not connected

Reinstalling audio drivers in windows

Manually re-pairing with dongle

Reinstalling iCue

What can I do, guys? This is driving me insane. I like the sound of the headset (don't need the mic), but I'll be returning it in a heartbeat if I can't get this to stop. It's 2 hours old, for crying out loud.

Hi Scrax,

You've been pretty thorough in attempting the fix the issue. I suggest trying to reset your headset. To soft reset your headset:

  1. Make sure your HS70 headset is powered off.
  2. Hold down the Mute button on the headset for about 15 to 20 seconds.
  3. Hold down the Power button until the headset turns on.
  4. Test your headset and see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists, please contact our support team by opening a ticket at https://help.corsair.com, they'll be able to take care of you.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I tried soft reset as well, didn't do much. I'll contact them and see what can be done :)

Have also been experiencing this, but mostly by other parties who hear noise from my microphone. I've even returned the first pair but the one I got in return seems to be no better. Feels like I've tried everything. Leaning towards getting something else as well.

Could it be that the Problem is active noise cancelling?

Does this headset have this kind of funktion?

If yes, please ad an option where you can disable ANC!!!

What I think is happening is that the headset is trying to cancel sounds by making a similar noise that then compensates it but there is some software issue that causes a buzzing noise. But I am no audiospecialist.

Btw. my father can't hear it, but I can hear it very well.

The month is March, coming into April, 2022, this has been a verified an ongoing issue since 2018. 4 years of the same issue for this headset that costs 100 bucks.

How absolutely incredible is it that this has not been fixed?

No firmware updates, no upgrades, no nothing.

this headset has been abandoned by corsair and they just ignore tickets.

We have 5 of these in the house, one for each of us, 3 of them were fine out of the box, 1 had to be returned to get a working one, and now the most recent purchased as a present for my son is showing this issue.

That's it, this is the last time I will ever buy corsair. I created this account purely to post this.

I just purchased a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4's they work perfectly, while they may be 3x more expensive perhaps that is the answer, just have to pay more for a good quality and stay the hell away form a company like Corsair that abandons their products and ignores customers.

The worst part, i figured out the issue, it is a grounding issue with the receiving antenna, it is not properly grounded and picks up interference. I am not going to bother to fix them, that is not my job. This could be fixed with a single piece of wire and a glue gun but the Corsair company simply chose to ignore the issue as a recall for faulty manufacturing would be too pricey.

And I know Corsair is going to tell me to just create a ticket, but no thanks, I will just return them to Amazon and get my money back, no point in hiding the responses by Corsair, there is a reason they want you to take it to a ticket, they do not want the world to see them tell you to pound sand for a known issue.

This is just terrible.

Stay away from this headset future people. If you read this, do not bother to troubleshoot it, just box it up and send it back and get something worth a damn.
