Quickpar failing - Memtest86 Errors

PPP

Recommended Posts

Help please,

I have recently experienced intermittent problems with quickpar, research has unearthed interesting points about rar sizes and how the bigger the file the more stress to memory chips. On the site they recommend testing DIMMS with Memtest86. Initial testing of my 2 Corsair CMX512-3200LLPRO (MB is ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe) showed errors when both tested simultaneously. I then proceeded to remove 1 chip and test them singly, one was fine but the other threw out 826 errors in no time at all. Are there any more mem tests / bios tests that you would prefer I try or should I just send the problem chip back.

Regards

Please try these settings after you load setup defaults.

AI Over Clock Tuner: Manual

CPU Freq: 200 MHz

Memory Frequency: 100%/DDR400

Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 200MHz/400DDR

Legacy USB: Disabled

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T

Then test the suspect module with http://www.memtest.org. But you must disable Legacy USB when running any memory test with ASUS P4 MB's.

I have tried the settings you mentioned (could not find SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T) and could not change the frequency of CPU even on manual. I tried both memory chips. The one I believe is faulty gave 5327 errors on 3 passes all of them coming in test 5,6 and 7. The other chip gave no errors in 7 passes. Where do I need to send the faulty chip to?
