John Gaby
I am trying to add memory to my Emachines T1221 computer. It is supposed to take up to 2 256MB 32 Mbit x 64 bit modules. I purchased (at Fry's) your memory module 'VS256MB133A', and my machine does not recognize it. I tried it in both slots, combined with a 128MB module and by itself. No luck. Is this the correct memory for my machine? On your website, if I look up my computer, it tells me that I should get a module 'CMSS256MB-133'. Is there a difference between this module and the one I bought? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 27, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 27, 2005 Yes there is a big difference between these modules CMSS256MB-133 and VS256MB-133A. And your system as you have found out is not compaible with VS256MB-133A modules. Sorry. The part# VS256MB-133A is based on a higher density IC and the chipset on your system can not see the higher density IC.
