Codecracker666
U can look at my new build Specs. When the back panel switch is flipped, there are lights on the Video Card and the RGB lights on the MB light up. Turn on the PC start switch, and the PS double-clicks and nothing happens, no fans, no extra activity at all. Removed the Video card and there was no difference. Experienced here, built many machines but not in the past 3-4 years. Is the PC triggering some sort of "protection" in the PS? Would appreciate any advice, thx in advance. Are you only using the cables that came with the PSU? You're not using any cables that were in a previous build or "found in a drawer", right? What if all you have plugged in is the motherboard with CPU and RAM and no drives, etc. Does it power up then?
Codecracker666
Working through the steps. The double-click noise is new 2 me. I also have another set of RAM I can test with, which I will do. All new components, all Corsair Cables. Will answer back.
Corsair Employees jonnyguru Posted November 18, 2020 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 18, 2020 The clicking is the in-rush current relay turning on, and then turning back off again because it's seeing a short somewhere.
Codecracker666
Thanks, that was my 1st thought. I've been lucky on new builds and it always just worked, lol. Reverse engineering now ...
