Maximus X Hero no longer shows up in iCue

Go to CUE settings and 1) check "enable plugins" if it is not checked; 2) if it is already checked, disable it, wait about 5 seconds, then re-enable.

Just tried it, still doesn't show up. Tried rebooting the PC and restarting only icue itself and still no joy.

In Apps, there only 2 options, modify and uninstall. Modify simply calls up the installation executable.

I haven't touched the Aura software, ever since it was installed, back when the iCue support for Asus boards was in beta, so I am not running the new Armory crate one.

Currently, the only icue compatible corsair device I have is a K95 RGB keyboard, all is fine there.

No idea what happened, but the mobo is not showing up anymore

Just tried running Aura for the 1st time, in months. It doesn't change the lights behavior as well, whatever I select and click apply, nothing changes. Then tried reinstalling Aura, still no control of the lights from or icue, i have no idea what's going on.

EDIT: I just noticed the Motherboard integration sub forum, can a moderator please move this thread in there?

Thanks!

"Modify" is the repair installation track. It is generally helpful for cleaning up weird issues. It will reinstall the program and drivers, but not delete your settings or profiles.

If you haven't been using/updating Aura, then it's not likely there as been a change to its status. You should leave it closed when Plugins are enabled.

Something seems to be generally broken, I tried running aura after I've shutdown icue manually, the mobo's lights are not responding to any change, even to aura.

I don't think aura even sees the motherboard, since some settings are completely gone, like setting the behavior when the pc is off and the color calibration. Reinstalling it didn't help.

It wouldn't be the first time Aura has gone completely off the rails. CUE works by being allowed access to the Lighting.Service (Aura) program and it needs Aura to be working. It's not clear what happened or why, but we have seen some people resolve basic Aura issues by shutting down, flipping the PSU off, and pulling the plug for 5-10 minutes. Go longer if you can. When you shut down for the night, pull the plug and reconnect in the morning. This usually forces the MB itself to trigger a reset in Aura. Everything should go back to color cycle and red. See if you have control again after that.

c-attack, you sir are simply awesome :D:

The unplugging of the mains method worked like a charm, I've gotten back icue control over the Maximus' lights, everything works just like it did. I will not try running aura to not mess something up.

Thank you very much!

It’s ok to use Aura if you need it. Just uncheck the plugins box in CUE settings first, the motherboard should drop out, and then you are OK to open. However, it’s not really possible to use both at the same time. If you need your 5v D-RGB headers on the MB, you need to forgo CUE control. Those will freeze up when the plugin is enabled. It can effectively work for static colors on the 5v D-RGB headers.
