gary_1967
I have been running a AMD 64bit 3400+ ssocket 754 system for almost a year now. It has been running with 2 512meg CORSAIR TWINX1024-3200C2 2X64X64 modules with out any issues. I just purchased a CORSAIR CMX512-3200C2 module to bump up my memory to 1.5 gig. Just got the stick in today and pluged it in...... No luck. The system will not even boot. The new memory works fine all by it's self but will not work with either of the other sticks. It's the exact same memory except it's not a matched pair. Is there anything I can do?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 26, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 26, 2005 I am sorry but with this platform all of the modules would need to the exact same part# and revision. In addition, if you install more than 2 modules the memory Frequency may need to be set to DDR333 as well.
leeghoofd
Yep I placed the same board today in a pc with a dead Epox mobo, I still don'see the point why MSI put in 3 dimm slots, most users apparently cannot use 3 dimms and indeed like ram guy suggested the AMD 64 is very picky regarding ram and all ram modules need to be the same model and nr to work 100% bulletproof
gary_1967
Is there any way I can get older versions of memory directly from Corsair that would match the version that I already have? I think the memory I have now is rev 1.2 and the memory I just got from zipzoomfly is 4.2 Thanks, Gary

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 26, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 26, 2005 Gary, As Wired suggested please talk to our Customer Service, I know they will do what ever they can but this is not a warranty issue. Sorry!
