Blazter
Hey! I recently bought a RM1000i which I am happy with but I have a question about the fan button. It works and all but it is kind of wobbly, I can move the button a little bit upwards and sideways with the top of my finger. Are your RMi-series fan button the same or is it very attached? Thank you.
LeDoyen
that's more or less what you're dealing with : https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/tactile-switches/1769537/ the switch itself is firmly soldered to the PCB and isn't going anywhere, but the tactile extension can be pretty wobbly. Often it's guided by the enclosure hole itself to avoid breaking it by pushing it aside too far. So, no worries, it won't get used anyway :)
Blazter
Thank you! Yes, it is the "lever" that is a bit wobbly. So this is by design?
LeDoyen
by design more or less, but it's a pain to lose time and money to perfectly align a punched hole with a switch just to make it perfectly wobble free, given the fact that most users won't even touch it once during the whole life of the PSU :) it's out of reach in the case anyway

Vegan
Given modern PSUs have zero fan design, the button is there to confirm the fan works 99 times out of 100 the machine powers up and gaming begins, hardware today is comparatively reliable
