Blackhawk1977
Hello, I have a problem with my new memory. 4x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK32GX4M2D3600C18 on an Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming with OctalCore Intel Core i9-9900K. The memory sticks only run with a standard clock speed of 2133Mhz. As soon as I activate the XMP or XMP 2 profile, the PC won't boot anymore. It goes on and off 3-4 times and then the POST message, safe mode. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and how I can get the Ram to the specified 3600Mhz? Or is it not possible with this mainboard to run 64GB on 4 banks with XMP? So long...
Corsair Employees Corsair Notepad Posted October 28, 2020 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 28, 2020 You are mixing two separate 32GB(2x16GB) kits together in order to try to force them to work as a single 64GB(4x16GB) kit which neither has been validated or guaranteed to do. Remove the memory from your system and then install one kit by itself, you can compare serial numbers to find the matching stick, and then clear your motherboard CMOS, boot into BIOS, enable XMP, and then boot. Make sure you install the two sticks into the optimized slots on the motherboard for only two sticks being installed. I am willing wager than each 32GB(2x16GB) kit on their own will boot with XMP enabled without an issue.
