I created a ticket last weekend, (2004358649) the noise makes me crazy

as my local store wants me to return the product, which would leave my pc without cooling,

I'm curious what response i will get from corsair

I hope i'm not spamming and that my additions will be useful

I got a new iCUE ELITE CAPELLIX unit directly from Corsair as replacement

It makes even more noise than the previous one

The product is just not okay, much too noisy in comparison to any other similar product on the market

I'll have to go back to the PRO series, loosing some money in the operation

Wish I would have seen this thread before buying my h100i elite, same pump noise whine. Made an account just to add one more to this. I also submitted a do not buy review on Amazon to warn others to stay away from this product if they care about having a quiet operating system. It's a shame because I like the design, switched over from a NZXT x53 which had full speed control through CAM, normal speed at no gaming temps was set to 1750 rpm and was dead quiet. Increasing above 2k produces a similar type of sound, but I care about having a quiet running system when just browsing the web or doing non intensive tasks. Is the EK the recommendation for a similar style? Changed from the NZXT because I swapped from a H210i case to the Phanteks p200a for larger GPU support and was getting tired of looking at the NZXT logo smack in the middle of the pump head.

I have the same problem. H100i capellix. I am using Intel mounting bracket (11400F) the whiny pitch noise from the pump is driving me insane, it’s the loudest part in my machine by far. I noticed we had an update on icue which allows it to now go at “variable speed” unfortunately that also is very noisy. Can we get an update please. Driving me insane. I’m surprised Corsair claim they haven’t had the issue themselves, you must have fans running at 100% if you can’t hear it which isn’t really an option. As it stands I can’t sit at my computer for more than an hour before I get a headache with this pump noise.

Other user, other complaint.
Like most people here, I have this noise issue with the pump.
Again, an update of the firmware would be welcome, not necessarily to break the speed of the pump, but at least to go down to 2000 rpm.

Otherwise I tried Argus Monitor, but unable to control the pump of my iCUE H150i Elite Capellix (Argus only detects the fan of the pump, but changing the value does not change anything). I have successfully closed the iCue software and Corsair services. If anyone has good experience with Argus and can help?

But the best thing will still be to modify the firmware and this 3-factor choice, be more precise, or even lower the speed slightly.

Yeah, it is very loud.

Corsair - Is it really not possible to run with lower RPM? I ask because the old water cooling got a FW with much lower RPMs ... Can you confirm, that the pump is louder with AM4 Sockets as with Intel?

And last question: Is there a time to run the pump until it will be more silent?

I built a setup with Corsair 500D Obsidian and H115i Elite Capellix to run a silent computer ...

This page has nearly reached 10 pages with complaints.

They obviously know about the issue, the just don't care.

Terrible, ill never buy corsair again after the lack of communication on this.

They did say this model of pump cannot run slower due to it's design. This was posted earlier in the thread.

They also said below, which is it? Can these units run silent or not? The answer is  no at that speed, but there has been no update either from below either. When these were first sold they were advertised as with silent modes.

We are looking into the issue. I can say that the personal unit I have has ran open air for months and I can not hear it.

you too! Thats the one im running and its been perfect, not as nice looking but quiet as a mouse 🙂

Is the Pro definitely silent (or legitimately close to silent) on its low pump mode?

I read some complaints online about the Pro's fans but I don't really understand why since they're also ML and surely adjustable? I'm also going to have to downgrade from the Capellix's hellish pump noise but I don't want to just end up with a new problem.

I run the Pro on balanced not quiet and its still silent. I run my fans on silent though and you cannot hear anything.

Cappelix looks amazing but the noise is terrible so had to go.

Same problems with the noise on the Quiet mode but the pump does less noise in the mode variable speed.

In quied mode the speed is always above 2300 rpm but the variable mode it is between 2230 and 2260.

It is still not quiet but at least it is less annoying.

Thanks for the response. I totally agree. Can't believe the Capellix passed quality control like this to be honest.

I apologize to everyone experiencing an irregularly noisy pump with their ELITE CAPELLIX AIO. Please open a ticket with our support here - they'll be happy to help.

a ticket wont help mate, since YOU DONT SUPPORT LOWER RPM for this thing.

Do you even read the thread?

What exactly will a ticket achieve? People have already RMA'd the AIO and had the same problem - it's either  a fundamental problem in the design of the pump and/or a consequence of high minimum pump speeds.

Based on the reports in this thread (including RMAs) and the line from one of the Corsair reps about the minimum pump speed needing to be high due to the AIO's impedance I'm quite confident in saying *all* the Capellix pumps are affected by this equally. It's just that some people are more sensitive to it than others, particularly if you have a quiet or silence optimised system already.

This thread is almost a year old now, and 9 pages long. Corsair has barely responded to any of the posts in this thread. Corsair Travis stated that the pump must run at high speed to overcome loop resistance, and that he has a Capellix AIO running in open air and he can't hear it. I guess this is supposed to infer that this makes it OK? He also said they were Looking into it.. That was in April of 2021. Several Corsair people (most recently Corsair Albert) have said to open a ticket, which will solve nothing.

Now they have released the H170i Elite Capellix. I  asked if this AIO uses the same pump with the same high minimum RPM. I got the same stock response from Corsair Albert - the pump should not be noisy and if yours is, open a ticket. He did not actually answer my question which was does the H170i Elite Capellix use the same Asetek Gen-6 pump as the other Capellix AIO coolers, with the same high minimum pump speed.

It is clear to me that Corsair is not going to admit to this problem, and they are not going to fix it. I assume that they actually can't fix it which means it is a design flaw that they cannot resolve with a firmware update. Considering the Capellix is Corsair's top of the line AIO cooler, it's pretty lame that they are ignoring the 9 pages of noise complaints in this thread. I don't know if the H170i Elite Capellix AIO uses the same Asetek Gen-6 pump with the same high minimum RPM limitation as the earlier models. If it does, and they still did not do anything about it, that is also pretty lame. Time to move on from Corsair AIO coolers.
