Blandin
Hi, I Bought Twinx XMS 2x256 PC2700LL one year and a half ago. I always experienced random crashes and as I didn't know memetest, I didn't guess the memory could be faulty (last time I had faulty memory, Windows wouldn't start). The memory is running on an A7N8X motherboard with an althlon XP 2600+ The memory is running at 333MHz with latencies 2-2-2-5 and dual channel. I use no overclocking at all. I runned memtest for a night and encountered several times errors at the same address in the memory, and also some other errors quite randomly in the memory. Well, I think the modules are wrong and then need to be replaced. So I need to get a RMA number. I can perform more tests if required. Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for the answers. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2005 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the following settings manually and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure. CPU Freq: 166 MHz Memory Frequency: 100% Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts Resulting Frequency: 166MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5T If you do find you have a failing module then please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that might suggest some other problem, and I would suggest testing them in another system to be sure. Blandin
I will try with these exact settings, and then try with same settings (if I get errors) on my other motherboard : ASUS A8V Deluxe with an athlon 64 3200+.
