plywood99
Anyone know if the Promos memory chips can handle extra voltage? My mobo only goes to 2.8v and I'm considering getting a XXX memory booster. I don't want to waste money on it if it wont help. Oh yeah, Promos is the chips on my Corsair twinx 3200C2PT v5.1. CMC_SAVAGE
2.8 volts should be more than enough for those modules. Regardless of what chips used, the warranty is void after 2.9 volts.

Not too worried about the warranty, just wondering if voltage helps, like it does with BH-5 and VX chips...
Wired
Doubt it. Promos aren't known for their OCs.

Yellowbeard
It's an Abit AV8 - 3rd Eye I checked the website for the booster and your MOBO is not listed on the compatibility list. Make certain that you can use the booster with your MOBO before you plug it in to avoid smoke. IMO, if you are wanting more speed or bandwidth you may simply want to upgrade the RAM you are using and get something that will do well with your MOBO. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 29, 2005 I would suggest Twinx1024-3200XL as they would be more versitile with the timimgs and settings you can use.
