Hi.

I have a few questions.

1. Will my RM750X V2 work with the 3080 regarding the 3x 8-pin cables? I only have two of them, so I would need a 3rd. But does 3 cables fit? (I think yes, but I wanna confirm).

2. I found the Corsair store, but I have no idea the version, gen or type I should get of the PCIe cable. Again Im guessing and would like a confirmation. Would this work:

Thanks.

I believe the RM750 only has three. I have the RM750i and that only has three. At least one will be taken up with your CPU, possibly two. You can buy that cable from Corsair, but there may not be anywhere for it to plug in to the PSU. I have the same issue and for me the probable answer is to take out the second CPU cable which is not required because I am not overclocking the CPU. If you are overclocking then you have a problem.

Well it has 4x 8 pin connectors for EPS and PCIE so you're good to go if you only have one cable for your CPU.

Regarding cable compatibility you can look up this page :

https://www.corsair.com/fr/fr/psu-cable-compatibility

Basically, for PCIE cables, type 3 and 4 are identical and will fit your PSU

What about gen? There seems to be gen3 and gen4.

Also This seems to be the one I have.

Hi.

Absolutely. You use one pigtail cable and one cable with just one PCIe connector.

Think about it: If you had an FE card and had to use the adapter, how many PCIe connectors would you use? Only two. Nvidia encourages you to use two separate cables for that.

You have an AIB card. It has three PCIe. Does the AIB card use more power than the FE? Not that we've seen. So why would it require three separate PCIe cables? Answer: It doesn't. You're fine.

What about gen? There seems to be gen3 and gen4.

"Gen" is only referring to the sleeve type. Gen 4 is the paracord sleeve without heatshrink. Gen 3 is individually sleeved with heatshrink. I'm guessing Gen 2 might be the flat ribbon cables and Gen 1 is standard sleeved cable.
