weigenmann
Hello, I am to buy new memory (4GB all in all) in the near future for a MSI neo4 plain vanilla mobo to go with a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with venice core. I am thinking of overclocking a little but not extreme. I don't seem to find the difference between the Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 and TWINX2048-3200C2PT Any help / thoughts on that. Should I look into some other memory modules from Corsair. Cheers, weigenmann
CandyKid
There is no difference in the memory modules. The aluminum heat-spreader is black in the first model and platinum colored in the second model. As for running 4 modules in that setup, make sure you read the memory configuration sections of the manual (available from the http://www.msicomputers.com website) as some of the boards will only run 4 modules at DDR333. weigenmann
Hello CandyKid, Thanks for your input. From another thread I gather that AMD Athlon 64 with Venice core can handle 4 Dimm's at 400MHz. Cheers, weigenmann
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 29, 2005 That's supposed to be the case, but we have not seen the CPU as of yet!
G-MAN
I dont believe that MB and CPU supports 4 gig of ram, although the new dual core is suppose to.
