stagfather
I was having a fairly minor issue with my Scimitar. When left-clicking, it would occasionally register as a double or tripleclick, as though I had lifted my finger when I hadn't. After finding a thread here with a similar issue that had been solved with a firmware update, I attempted to do so through the iCUE software. I updated the software to the latest version first (3.32.80) and then clicked the Firmware update button. (I believe my firmware was 3.19, and I was updating to 3.20) it failed immediately, and all my settings were non-functional on the mouse, and iCUE appeared as though there was no device connected. Upon closing iCUE and restarting iCUE, my settings would return, it would see my mouse again, but it was still firmware 3.19. I tried a few more times with the same effect, and on the 4th try it started to look like it was going to work... and then the lights on the mouse turned off, and it gave me the instruction to "replug the scimitar". I unplugged it and replugged it, and nothing happened. I then tried to abandon the update, and it told me this would make the mouse inoperable. Foolishly thinking that I could get the firmware somewhere else easily, I hit ok. Now the mouse blinks white lights, and in iCUE it shows my firmware version as "v. ?" and when I click update it gets to 100%, and then gives me the same song and dance, asking "Please replug the SCIMITAR RGB ELITE device" and if I unplug and replug nothing happens. After aborting, I have the option to browse for a firmware image, but I don't have one and can't find one for 3.20 on the forums. Also worth noting, a windows notification pops up that reads "CRP DISABLD G:" when trying to update the firmware the first time. Does this mean that iCUE didn't have full control of the drivers? Is there an image of 3.20 floating around I could get a hold of? As of now I can unplug and replug the mouse and use it, but no thumb buttons work, no settings work, I can't change the DPI, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Even an old image of an older firmware version may get me out of this mess.
stagfather
Update: I soft reset the mouse by holding both left and right click for 5 seconds as you plug it in via USB, and it restored me to... 3.20. Not sure how a reset installed a firmware 1 version newer than it had on it before I started trying to update it, but I'll take it. Hopefully this helps someone.
