M65RGB Elite - Key 8 not working

Hi all,

first of all please excuse my broken english since it's not my first language.

I got an M65 RGB Elite with 8 buttons, the 8th is the red square on left side, well, there's no way to use it in games.

When I press it the led that indicate DPI turns to some kind of pale yellow.

I was able to use the others buttons and assign them in games but not the red one.

In Win10 device list, the mouse is reported three times as "Compatible HID mouse" and I found no specific drivers for M65, just iCUE program that seems to be useless to test buttons.

Any idea? Thanks

That is the "sniper" button. It's native function is to lower the DPI for the mouse to a specified level while depressed. You can change that speed from within CUE. You also can assign it do other thing, but there is no "sniper" button designation in the standard operating system. You need the software active to make that happen and you need to use substitute mapping.

Your game will not recognize the sniper button, so you remap the desired action to sniper key within the software. For example, if you want to make the sniper button be "melee attack" and that command is assigned to "F" in game, go to CUE - M65 - Actions and click the + to make a new action. Select remap from the right hand side and "A-Z". Select F and then click on the sniper button to assign it. Whenever your current profile is active, the sniper key will now produce a "F" rather than change DPI. Within the game, that gives you your melee attack.

Wow, fast and useful Thanks a lot!

It's exactly as you wrote and I was able to assign the "sniper" button since the games I play already let you "hold breath" that I find more useful so I could assing that button to scope magnification.

Thanks again and have a nice day ;-)

Yeah, I've had a lot of M65's over the years and now I am wholly dependent upon that thumb button. You can further customize it by assigning game specific profiles where you need to perform a different action. In one game it's a dodge, in another block, and in one I actually let it lower the DPI.

The other way to attack that is to make "F" (or whatever key) the sniper button trigger in all games. So rather than change CUE, you change the game remaps and make F what you want on the sniper button for that specific game.
