Frznagn
This system is a custom build and three years old. It's been running hot so I cleaned the radiator and fans, but no change in temps. I'm in Anchorage and I have my window open so it's cool in this room (<72 degrees). CPU temps are Min 58.9 and Max 78.0, without running anything more than a browser. Right now package 1 is at 64, package 2 is at 58. CPU load 3-5%. Fan RPM is 1560. H115i temp is 43.7. Pump RPM is 3150. When running anything with a load, temps have gone as high as 93 degrees, and stabilized around 69 degrees. CPU speed has throttled down to about .56 ghz with that temp. http://www.rmwaetjen.com/pics1/cputemps.jpg http://www.rmwaetjen.com/pics1/coretemp.jpg Any suggestions as to what is going on or how to fix? I use this to work from home so it's really important to have this fixed. Thanks for your help!
c-attack
At 46C coolant temp at idle, you are likely looking at a flow problem or partial blockage. Coolant temp is minimum CPU temperature, so it will add a sizable penalty at all phases. There isn't a fix and this is how a no maintenance cooler will eventually end. You can try tilting the case or tapping on hoses and it might temporarily shift the blockage. However, there is no place for it to go and the problem will reoccur sooner, rather than later. You need to move toward a replacement, either through the Corsair RMA process if under warranty or something else.
