Wired
Keep in mind that the lot # is important, as not all revisions have the same IC.
JonEapples
I'm gonna be honest with you, I have the v5.1 XMS 3200c2 you are talking about and I am very disapointed with them. Part: CMX512-3200C2PT Version: XMS3202v5 1 Lot: 0450059-2 RamGuy told me the were Promos-5 Rev A chips and they just stink for overclocking. You said you found out yours were Winbond -5 Rev B UTT you better make sure as I have read in other forums that these Promos chips are awful. I paid good money for a matched pair of these from the Egg for the reputable Corsair name and success with the earlier versions and got these awful overclockers. I'm running mine now at 209MHz, with 2.80v running through them and after that they are not stable. Totally handicaps my whole system and I paid 200 bucks for them. I don't see how the XMS brand can put out some awesome RAM, get a buzz going about how great they are, and then swich to some cheap stuff for the unsuspecting customer, I had no idea I would be dropping that kind of money for value Ram grade chips with a snazzy heatspreader on them. :[pouts:

Wired
Yep, those 5.1s were made in December, well before any of the new UTTs were out IIRC.

So wait are you saying they're now using good stuff again in the XMS? Now that they have gone down in price? I guess all of us who bought late 2004 just got the shaft, 200 bucks for the famous "Corsair Xtreme Speed Memory" with great reputation and reviews, but since you happen to get the v5.1 you get value ram at a premium price. I'm very disapointed with Corsair.
Wired
They make multiple revisions of the C2s ATM. You cannot realistically expect more than they're rated for.
