binxer
Like many people here I think I have a bad stick of RAM. I purchased the Corsair dual channel 1 gig kit (VS512MB400). My computer was running fine until a couple weeks ago when I started getting CRC errors while installing programs. I also got random crashes in word and random computer restarts. I figured it was the RAM so I tested each module in the bios (memory testing). Only 1 of the stick said "Memory test fail" so I figured this one was bad. I tested them in the same slot. Anything I can do to fix this or should I ask for an RMA?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem, and I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure.
