ejsusmc
Ram Guy, I woke up this morning and my system was crashed. Tried to reboot, and noticed the flash of 128 MB RAM before the CPU and memtest. Kinda freaked me out because I have 2 sticks of CMX256A-3200C2PT. System attempts to load WinXP but reboots everytime. I tried booting with just one stick, and neither stick will allow XP to load. System was built February 16th 2004, and has operated perfectly since then without any changes at all. All components were purchased from Newegg on or around the same date. (2) CMX256A-3200C2PT (XMS3202v1.1) 0406018 CPU-Athlon XP 2500+ Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum KT-400 all bios settings at default. System Performance-Normal CPU Freq.-Auto DRAM clock-166 MHz DDR voltage- 2.7 latency-2.5 Trp-3 Tras-6 Trcd-3 Burst-4 I am not a computer expert, but I can try to get any other information neccessary to test this memory. Unfortunately, I do not have another system to run memtest on these. The system will not boot at all to run memtest.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem, and I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. Tested both modules on another system to see if we could get a boot and run memtest on them. This system failed to load Win XP as well. With the bios settings at 2.7, 3, 3, 6 this system produced the same symptoms as my rig with BOTH modules. Unable to run memtest, the system was unable to boot.
