Robinson4e
I have been having odd issues with this stick of RAM, such as bad downloads and files I have used before do not install correctly or have CRCs. I ran memtest86 v1.55 and receive excessive errors at 42% complete. For example first failed is test 4 failing address 00018ec5fb0 - 398.3MB err-bits 00080000. RAM detail: CMX512-3200C2PT XMS3202v2.2 0324154 My system is as follows: Mobo: Asus A7N8X-e CPU: Barton 3200+ CPU Voltage: CPU Default Mem Voltage: 2.70 FSB Freq: 200 CPU Ratio: Default FSB:DRAM: 1:1 T(RAS): 6 T(RCD): 3 T(RP): 3 CAS L:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 18, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 18, 2005 Please try these settings: With the A7N8X-E please set the FSB jumper to pins 2-3 with the modules in slots 2-3 and then reset or clear the bios and load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts and set the timings manually. Then please test the system with http://www.memtest.org. CPU Freq: 200 MHz Memory Frequency: 100% Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T I have 4 of these exact MB's and this is what had to be done to solve problems with aggressive memory, no matters who's I tested. In addition, a few other's had some success disabling Spread Spectrum in the bios as well. I would take a look at http://www.asusforums.org as well in the AMD section. I did what you have stated above and same errors occur. I had Spread Specturm disabled with my first round of tests. I own a few more sticks of corsair and they have no problems in this motherboard when I test (same model older vers). Just this stick causing issues. I did test on another VIA chipset box with relaxed timings and 2.8 volts and it errored as in my first Asus tests. Please let me know what my next actions should be.
