KimiKiri
System Specs: Mobo: Epox 9nda3 CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 939 Graphics Card: PNY 256 mb Geforce 6800 GT Ram: Matched Pair TwinXL Pro(w/ leds) 2x512 MB 400mhz Part # CMX512-3200xlpro Ever since building this system 2 months ago I have been receiving BSODs and random game crashes in World of Warcraft and Counter Strike Source. I refused to believe it was the RAM causing the problem since it was a brand new matched pair from Corsair, however after running memtest86 I received several errors. I have played around with various bios settings and video card drivers for the past 2 months to no avail so I am pretty sure it is the RAM after all now. Any last suggestions or can I possibly send these in for a replacement?
Wired
CAS Latency: 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2 Row Precharge (tRP): 2 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5 Memory voltage: 2.7x or 2.8 volts All other settings to default. Test one stick at a time in each slot. In your original test, how many errors in each test? If errors occur in the new tests, the same info will be needed. KimiKiri
I ran a few tests... Stick "A" Dimm Slot 1: 2 passes w/ no errors Stick "B" Dimm Slot 1: 2 passes w/ no errors Stick "A" Dimm Slot 1 w/ Stick "B" Dimm Slot 2: Multiple Errors on 1st pass Stick "A" Dimm Slot 1 w/ Stick "B" Dimm Slot 3: 1 pass w/ no errors I had been running the sticks in slots 1&2 or 3&4 as my mobo manual suggests that to obtain "best memory performance", however in both those postitions I was recieving the BSOD and various random in-game crashes. I will try out this new configuartion for a while(Slot 1&3) and report back with my findings.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 15, 2005 Please make sure the Dim Voltage is set to 2.8 Volts and test the system with http://www.memtest.org, but if the modules both test with no problems one up but you get errors when in dual channel that would suggest a power problem or a failing memory controller in the CPU.
