ocarimusic
So I recently bought the Hydro Series H100i and everything is plugged in and working correctly, however I bought a third LL series RGB fan but I have nowhere to plug the (TO RGB HUB) cable in that powers the RGB lights. How can I plug in this fan? Is there a cable I need to buy? My motherboard is a GIGABYTE B365M DS3H. c-attack
You need a separate Lighting Controller and RGB fan hub. The Platinum SE can power it’s two fans, but cannot manage additional lighting current draw. These are in the multipacks of LL, but that's not helpful here unless you want to more LL fans. You would likely need to acquire a Lighting Node Pro through the RGB strip kit and a stand-alone RGB Lighting Hub. See more here. https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=173880 Edited June 21, 2020 by c-attack
ocarimusic
so it looks like i would need a second USB slot to plug in the lightning node pro into my motherboard, which is already taken up by the watercooler so i'm still a little confused :[pouts:
c-attack
USB is how any device communicates back to the software system. You always will need that in some form and if you board only has 1 internal USB 2 slot, that is easily remedied by an inexpensive USB hub. The larger problem is you need an entirely new lighting controller (Node Pro) and power system (RGB Lighting Hub) for the 1 single LL fan. These are difficult to come by individually and adding a single RGB fan is usually a tough proposition. The easiest thing to do is get more LL fans in a multi-pack and replace your front fans as well. Otherwise, you need to hunt down each of the above pieces to run the single LL fan in the back.
