Twinx1024-4000 pro not operating at specified speed

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of 4000pros and tried to overclock em. I wanted to see what was the maximum speed that i could push them to on my DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D. This motherboard uses the nforce 4 ultra chipset. I lowered the cpu multiplier of my amd 64 3000+ to 7 and set the Fsb at 250, which would give me a cpu speed of 1.75ghz, which was below the rated 1.8ghz thus eliminating the cpu from the equation. My motherboard wouldn't post at the fsb of 250, which is supposed to be the speed of the 4000pros. Even at the fsb of 240, i was getting errors in memtest86. I tested each module individually too, both had problems. I used 2.8v for the ddr voltage, spd settings for the timings (3-4-4-7) and i tested my motherboard beforehand, it booted into windows at over 330fsb after i eliminated the cpu and ram factor. So do i qualify for RMA? Thank you.

We can try replacing the modules, but what you have posted would also suggest some other problem.

Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

Thanks I appreciate that. I'm pretty sure its the memory though, i have ran prime95 to make sure that the cpu was stable, and i increased the chipset and htt voltage to see if it can be made stable, but nothing works.
