Hi Ramguy,

I have recently bought a TwinX 1GB 3200C2PT pair and a VS1GB400C3 to go in 2 of my pcs. When installed one system will not boot (System 1) and just blue screens the other boots but is very unstable (System 3). I have run Memtest86+ 1.55 and got the following results:-

TwinX (as sole memory in system)

Module 1 + 2 = 1079 errors

Module 1 = 0 errors

Module 2 = 1079 errors (most failures @ 77.8, 88.3, 332.3 and the module fails all tests @ same addresses)

Value Select (as sole memory in system) = 43 errors @ 258.3 & 258.8 (the majority occured during Test # 6 in Memtest86+ 1.55)

I ran the tests in the systems below (Auto SPD + latest BIOS's) and all systems reported similar error rates.

System1

MSI 6758 M/B

2.6 ghz Socket 478 Prescott P4

Gainward 5900 Ultra 256 mb Video

2x Raptor 36 gb Drives

450 Watt Tagan PSU

System 2

Shuttle SB75G2

3.0 ghz Socket 478 Prescott P4

MSI 5600 Ultra 128 mb Video

IBM Deskstar 160 gb Drive

System 3

Supermicro P4SCI i875P

2.8 ghz Socket 478 Celeron

ATI Rage 8mb Video

2x IBM Deskstar 70gb Drives

Regards

Steve

Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

However; if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem, and I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure.
