Void Pro Wireless . is there any way to turn off the mute/unmute sound(not the voice)

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I have the Corsair Void Pro Wireless. When I got it it had a voice saying when I muted or unmuted. I turned that off in iCue. But I still have this beeping sound whenever I mute or unmute, and it's quite frankly, annoying. Alot of times, if I move my head forwards (when muted), the mic can get stuck in just the right place between mute and unmute and it quickly switches between them mulitple times (while beeping each time) until I move it. This happens ALOT.

That's why I'm wondering if there is a way to turn this beep off? So it doesn't give me any feedback when switching between mute and unmute? I tried looking in iCue, but there was only the choice for the voice. It's the only thing wrong with the headset, but if there isn't a way to switch it off, I may have to change it (it's that annoying).

Thanks.

I just upgraded iCUE to version 3.38.61.

The latest voice prompts for mic mute/unmute with sidetone are crazy too much. So you might try the beeps, and then you notice there are way more beeps than before. I don't even know how to describe the unmute symphony you now hear.

So, go back to the voice prompts, and then disable completely by renaming the folder where the sounds are (as someone else suggested years ago). This still works.

iCUE has to be closed. Look for it in your system tray to "Quit" it if you get an error trying to move/modify/rename the sound files/directory.

You can even put in your own WAV files of the same name for that function. E.g., I recorded some pleasant beeps of my own for mute/unmute and put them in the .../sounds/default folder as files MicOn.wav and MicOff.wav (same names as seen after install). Those are the only sounds I care about at the moment, so I didn't add any others. You still have "Enable Voice Prompts", but you are playing your custom WAV files which can be voice or beeps or boops.

Signed up just to reply to this. The beep when muting is so unnecessary and everyone on discord can hear it when I mute my mic. Has anyone found a way to disable it? Really beginning to regret moving from logitech to corsair, tempted to return this headset.

That's a Discord issue, has nothing to do with Corsair. You're going to have to figure out why it picks up your system sound.
