Acer Aspire 1524 WlMi with 2x Corsair CMXSD512-3200LL

Hi,

 

I have an Acer Laptop: Acer Aspire 1524 WlMi

The laptop has an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor.

It came with 2x 256 Mb PC2700 memory.

I upgraded the memory to 2x Corsair CMXSD512-3200LL.

But the motherboard of this laptop doesn't start up with the right bus and timings settings. There is no way to setup the memory settings in the bios.

So I use A64tweaker to configure the memory bus and the memory timings.

I've add an screenshot of my A64tweaker settings. With these settings I get 3065 Mb/s in SiS Soft Sandra 2005.

But I don't know if these are the optimal settings for this memory.

Could you let me know what the right/optimal config is for this memory?

p.s. Mayby someone knows a way to chance bios memory settings in bios so I dont have to manualy apply these settings everytime after starting up my system.

I have never seen a laptop that allows memory timings to be manually set. With the current offerings from laptop manufacture what they are; we are lucky that we can tweak them with software applications. What timings and bus speed did the memory boot at when you don’t use the tweaker program?

After booting the laptop the bus and the timings are:

2,5-3-3-5-1T at 166 Mhz (157,2 becouse of the AMD Athlon 64 memory devider (CPU/14).

 

I've add screenshots of a64tweaker and CPU-Z from after booting the system and after manualy setting the timings and memory bus.
