Neo_Bar
Hi, I have an Acer Laptop: Acer Aspire 1524 WlMi The laptop has an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor. It came with 2x 256 Mb PC2700 memory. I upgraded the memory to 2x Corsair CMXSD512-3200LL. But the motherboard of this laptop doesn't start up with the right bus and timings settings. There is no way to setup the memory settings in the bios. So I use A64tweaker to configure the memory bus and the memory timings. I've add an screenshot of my A64tweaker settings. With these settings I get 3065 Mb/s in SiS Soft Sandra 2005. But I don't know if these are the optimal settings for this memory. Could you let me know what the right/optimal config is for this memory? I hope you can help. Have a nice day, Barry p.s. Mayby someone knows a way to chance bios memory settings in bios so I dont have to manualy apply these settings everytime after starting up my system. SpDFrek
I have never seen a laptop that allows memory timings to be manually set. With the current offerings from laptop manufacture what they are; we are lucky that we can tweak them with software applications. What timings and bus speed did the memory boot at when you don’t use the tweaker program?
Neo_Bar
Hi, After booting the laptop the bus and the timings are: 2,5-3-3-5-1T at 166 Mhz (157,2 becouse of the AMD Athlon 64 memory devider (CPU/14). I've add screenshots of a64tweaker and CPU-Z from after booting the system and after manualy setting the timings and memory bus. Have a nice day, Barry
