Patch.tch Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Hi all. I'm a newbie here. I have a pair of vengeance cml8gx3m2a1600c9 ver.8.16 (2x4gb) installed and work perfect. I got a pair of cml8gx3m2a1600c9 ver.3.24 (2x4gb). Installed it to my gigabyte Z77-D3H. It works too as far as it installed separately from ver.8.16. And my system did not start if i install the both. It trying to start and constantly reboots after 2 or 3 secs. I reseted my bios to defaults. Maybe i need to change voltage or timings to make them work both? Did not find any info is it possible or impossible to make them work simultaneously. Thanx in advance.
emissary42 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 From the version numbers those two kits are of different density. One is dual rank built from 2Gbit ICs, while the other is single rank built from 4Gbit ICs, and ICs of different manufacturers too (Micron & Nanya). That is not exactly ideal and you will probably have to manually set the primary and secondary timings. Use those from the Ver3.24 one, since higher density kits usually require for example a higher tRFC. If you cannot get them to work together, follow Corsairs official recommendation and get a single 16GB kit instead.
Patch.tch Posted April 7, 2020 Author Posted April 7, 2020 Shuffled them for A snd B channels separately. 1 and 2 bank 3.24, 3 and 4 bank 8.16. Worked for me. Going to test now.
