Tarwada Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 hello. can i replace the stock H115i RGB PLATINUM fans with QL140 fans ? im planning to install the rad in the front of my case with the QL140 as intakes thanks.
c-attack Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Yes, but you will need a separate lighting controller for the QL. The onboard one in the Platinum can’t do the 2x35 LEDs. If you have existing LNP/Commander Pro hardware, that will work. Otherwise you want QL140 twin pack with its own lighting controller. You may still want the twin pack if you are using other Corsair HD/ML/LL fans in the build since the QL need their own device channel to work properly.
Tarwada Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) hi, thanks for the answer. i didn't buy the AIO yet. im buying my pc parts and im thinking of buying 1 twin pack of QL140 (so i get the controller). and then 4 QL140 fans 2 fans for the rad, 2 top fans and 2 bottom fans on corsair crystal 280x. am i ok ? do i need to add anything else ? c-attack Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 OK, then the one Lighting Node Core in the twin pack can do the lighting for all 6 QL fans. You can buy singles or whatever is most cost effective for the rest. However, I am a little concerned about the reality of an "all 140mm 280X" build. While certain panels can take 140mm fans, using some in one place may force you into 120mm choices elsewhere. I would prefer a 280X owner confirm or deny that premise.
Tarwada Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) this guy has done it already https://pcpartpicker.com/b/H36scf you can check his part list im also going to use Mini-ITX mobo see here : Edited March 30, 2020 by Tarwada
c-attack Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 His radiator is in the top and you said front mount. I am concerned the 25mm fan + 27-30mm radiator will push into the space for the top/bottom 140mm fans.
Tarwada Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 i see your point now. no problem. if there was no space i can move my rad to the top
