Vegan Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I have a box full of cables and I noticed with my HX1000i I have PCI Express power cables with a pair of connectors on them. My question is, are the enough for 300W and more class video cards?
acemaninwa871 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 The ones with two connectors I would not use on a single 300w video card. It should have come with at least two cables that are single pci-e ends.
Vegan Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 i have very few single cables, guess i should grab some more for power pig video cards
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted April 1, 2020 Corsair Employee Posted April 1, 2020 I have a box full of cables and I noticed with my HX1000i I have PCI Express power cables with a pair of connectors on them. My question is, are the enough for 300W and more class video cards? Really going to depend on the card. We have seen issues using a single PCIe cable being able to power certain cards effectively due to the increase power draw of those cards. Specifically this has been seen on all RTX series cards and with AMD's Radeon VII, Vega Series, and the RX 5700 XT and RX 5700. Note that the cards I mentioned may not be the only ones but it is easier to keep it to the more recent GPU's.
