m0wm0w Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Hello, I'm struggling to install my Asus RTX 2080 Ti graphics card into a Crosshair VIII motherboard. I try to press it down into the slot, but it won't go down all the way. Are the little lips on the metal piece that slides down the side of the case supposed to go inside or outside the holes? Here are some photos for reference: https://imgur.com/a/hvQnveh Thanks in advance for any insights y'all might have
JonKrmr Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Looking at your photos, I noticed it in the 2nd one, did you remove the protective rubber cover on the PCIe connector of the graphics card? Sure looks like it is still on the connector of the card......
KILLER_K Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Good catch there. I bet that GPU was hard to push down in there with the protector on it though.
m0wm0w Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 Ha ohhhhh mannnn, yep, that was it! All of these simple mistakes for my first build, I doubt it'll be the last!
Salsiccia Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I'm def not laughing - I could write a book on all the rookie mistakes I've made with builds - still making them.
