MinisterOfSound Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Hi, I just bought a Corsair TX850M PSU and i discovered that doesn't come with a secondary ATX12V/EPS12V Cable, it has only the fixed one and none extra in the modular cables. I have a Motherboard that needs the secondary cable, according all reports in the net, when using several components in the Ram/Pci-ex/M2 slots. I find strange that a PSU that doesn't cost 50€ and from a brand like Corsair doesn't include the secondary ATX12V/EPS12V Cable. It's a 2/4€ thing! The shipping costs more! I also have a Corsair HX1000 from 2008 in another PC, that one came with an extra EPS12V cable for CPU. (2008...) Now it's weekend and i have a unbootable PC so i would like to know if this cable from the HX1000 can be used in the TX850M: Thanks.
acemaninwa871 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 (edited) Not all power supplies come with a second EPS cable. It clearly states it on corsairs website that it only comes with one. According to corsair, the eps cable from the hx1000i should work. The only cable that varies among the corsair power supplies is the 24pin cable. It should not blow anything up though. Here's the psu compatibility chart https://www.corsair.com/us/en/psu-cable-compatibility Edited March 28, 2020 by acemaninwa871
QuaZar-Kid Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Honestly, I wish none of the PSU's above 750 watts came with any cables at all... Just a 15 amp power cord My guess is more than 75% of quality PSU buyers order colored high-quality cable packs I have 3 bags of crap power supply cables in a box with old computer parts
