revert
I have the K8N Neo2 and an Athlon 64 3500 and have 2 corsair modules, VS512mb400, installed in slot 1 and 2. I'm thinkking i want to purchase another VS512mb400 twin set to get me up to 2 gigs. Will they're be any problems or will the speed drop etc? Thanks. Wired
Per the Athlon 64 memory controller design, the FSB and memory speed will drop to 333 Mhz when running 4 sticks.
revert
Thanks for the answer. Glad i asked as i thought it was only when using double sided memory. I'll probably still go ahead with the purchase, having the extra memory is more important to me than the speed.
Wired
Just make sure your end task will truly be better with more memory @ 333 Mhz than less memory @ 400 Mhz.
