Bad TWINX modules

Recommended Posts

I have been using a match pair of TWINX512-3200LL (specified at 2,2,2,6 T1) in a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP motherboard with a 3.0 GHz intel P4 for well over a year with no problems. A couple days ago the computer started acting strange. Applications that ran fine previously gave memory access errors. Finally the computer quit booting (froze on the bios splash screen). After clearing the bios and swaping the order of the ram modules, I was able to get to the point where Win2k was starting but the machine kept rebooting right before the loging screen. The bios ram test did not report errors.

The ram setting were set to bios default (2.5, 2, 2, 6). Runing the latest version of ramtest gave numerous errors. Since this is my work computer, this system was never overclocked and the ram never ran at voltages other than default.

Please advise.

Thank you.
