Need RMA for my dead memory : XMS3202v1.1

Memory I'm having problem is :

 

The Part#: CMX512-3200C2

Version#: v1.1

The Lot#: 0251033

 

bought from zipzoomfly.com.

 

 

I have been using it but stop working a week ago.

 

It was installed into MSI Mega180 PC as stock setting as "auto by SPD", as dual DDR with exact same kind.

 

BIOS read :

 

T-(RAS) 9

T-(RCD) 4

T-(RP) 4

CAS latency 2.5

DRAM Clock 200MHz

 

It took me while to figure what was wrong with my PC;

disconnected all components,

checked CPU,

power connectors,

power supply,

then finally figured to this piece at last.

 

With this memory plugged in, the system even won't boot to BIOS now.

Put it to dimm 1 and dimm 2 as single memory but same, doesn't go to BIOS.

 

I tested another memory to dimm 1 or dimm2 as single memory to check if either dimm slot were damaged, it worked as normal on both slot; going to BIOS and all PC is working as fine.

 

P.S.

I just thought if my BIOS setting for this memory set low? :eek:

MSI MEGA 180

 

It only supports 333 Mhz memory. Make sure your memory is set to 333 Mhz, and change the timings:

 

CAS Latency: 2.5

RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

Row Precharge (tRP): 3

Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6

 

memory voltage: 2.7x or 2.8 volts

 

What was the other memory?

This PC has been using these same parts for dual DDR.

 

 

I guess I forgot to make FSB back to 166MHz when I flashed BIOS, load safe then optimized.

System Performance as [ Auto ] made memory automatically run DRAM to 200 MHz. :p:

 

 

I set BIOS changed as followed :

 

Changed:

System Peformance [ Auto ] to [ Manual ]

FSB/DRAM Ration [ Auto ] to [ 1:1 ]

Current DRAM Clock : 166MHz

Memory Timings to [ Auto ] to [ Manual ]

T-(RAS) 6

T-(RCD) 3

T-(RP) 3

CAS latency 2.5

 

DRAM Voltage Adjust [ 2.6V ] (default when flashed BIOS and load safe setting) to [ 2.7V ]

(note: this is max can put. 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, auto as choice)

 

 

Now it made to BIOS!!

 

Tested more and just verify, DRAM Voltage Adjust back to [ 2.6V ] caused hung up at BIOS.

I guess it needed 0.1V to boot.

 

 

 

Other stick can make and run fine (played game too hehe) even at setting DRAM Clock as 200MHz :

 

System Peformance to [ Manual ]

FSB/DRAM Ration [ Auto ]

Current DRAM Clock : 200MHz

Memory Timings to [ Auto ] to [ Manual ]

T-(RAS) 6

T-(RCD) 3

T-(RP) 3

CAS latency 2.5

 

with 2.6V, and of course 2.7V.

 

But not this one that I thought was dead; even won't boot or hang at BIOS (not consistant) with 2.6V even at 166MHz now.

It is kind a weird why it suddenly start need of 0.1V but now system seems running ok as dual.
