Razier
Hi, This was my previous issue; I have purchased at seperate times two CMX512-3200C2PRO modules and was wondering if they will run in Dual Channel on a Gigabyte K8NS ULTRA 939 Mobo with a Athlon 64 3500. One stick says XMS3202v.(version?) 1.1 the other XMS3202v.2.1? Can anyone help? One is lot#0410133-0 the other is #0428031-0 I RMA'ed the lot back to supplier and now have been told the Mobo and ram are not compatible!! I have opted to upgrade to a MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM NFORCE3 ULTRA S939. Will this be a good match and can I run this in Dual Channel???? Save me....I have been without my system for almost a month!! :[pouts: Help me Wired or Ram Guy!!!! Thanks, Raz
Wired
Recommended Modules for the Gigabyte GA-K8NS & Pro & GA-K8NSNXP Recommended Modules for the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum They're compatible with both boards. Problem is that the sticks aren't compatible with each other, unless the 2.1 was made when they had a labeling error. IIRC, all 2.x are really 1.x, there is no 2.x revision. CMX512-3200C2PRO XMS3202v1.1 0410133-0 CMX512-3200C2PRO XMS3202v.2.1 0428031-0 Those lot #s match up with the revision #s? Ram Guy, is that 2.1 one of the mis-labeled ones, or do they definitely use different ICs?

Is that correct Razier, or is it: CMX512-3200C2PRO XMS3202v1.1 0428031-0 CMX512-3200C2PRO XMS3202v.2.1 0410133-

Razier
Hey Wired, Just a update....I have the MSI K8N NEO2 PlatED and the ram is running in Dual Channel with no errors. Thanks for all the help you and RamGuy provided!! RamGuy also suggested relaxing the timings to make the work in dual mode....would this also improve performance? Currently I am at CAS 2.5 RAS to CAS 3 RAS pre 3 Cycle 8 bank cycle 11 Dram idle timer 16 at 2T . I know changing things should improve speed....what is the best value to change? Thanks, Raz
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2005 If you plan on over clocking I would suggest you leave the timings where you have them now. Other wise you can try Cass 2.5-3-3-6 and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts if you do over clock.
