Ramm94
Hello. Could someone, please, advise me whether Hydro X Series XC7 RGB CPU Water Block or some other is compatible with MSI MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE AC Motherboard? In compatibility section on Corsair's web page, it says that only with Z390M model of that Motherboard.
acemaninwa871
It doesn't seem like that MB is compatible. If I had to guess why it would seem like the mosfets and caps by the socket are in the way.
acemaninwa871
But quite honestly if you look at your mb and the z390m, I honestly don't see much of a difference in the mosfets and caps around the cpu. So I am not sure why they say it won't work.
Ramm94
Hello. Thank you for your time. Will also ask on msi support whether these motherboards are identical in these terms...

Corsair Employee Corsair GregX Posted August 4, 2020 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 4, 2020 Hi! The MSI Z390 MPG Gaming EDGE AC is marked as incompatible due to the capacitor position on the left (west) side of the CPU socket. Installing the XC7 RGB CPU water block on this motherboard might result in not optimal contact between the CPU and CPU water block.
