kpasagringo
I recently defraged my sata hard drive and the next time I tried to boot up my screen went blank. I flashed the bios, installed the latest version from Asus and then windows won't load. So I took it to a repair service and they say the Ram is faulty, Corsair Value Select 512MB PC3200. Diagonostics say it is ok but it won't load windows until thery change the RAM. I have no idea what to do...how can defraging a drive affect the memory? Any ideas? the RAM is also verified by Asus. AMD 3500 64 bit skt 939. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 30, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. If you do find one failing then lets get it or them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However; if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem, and I would try testing the memory in another system to be sure. Wired
FYI, degragging can't FUBAR your memory.
