Corsair PSU questions

What is the difference between HX 1200i and HX 1200? From my understanding the (i) represents link and that allows for fan controlling/RBG color controlling only. What about internal components? Are they made more durable on the i variant?

Reason for choosing this? I was told not to cheap out on PSU and to aim 50% more than what I would need. And I have a upgrade path if I choose to get a 2nd gfx card.

Cheers

Corsair HX1200i arrived in the mail today. Plastic was wrapped around box and looked new. I don't know if I got a refurbished product or not because 3 security stickers was on the internal box. Two of the security stickers was cut and the other one was overlapping those, but was touching on one side and not the other. In other words you can open the box without sticker being cut.

Once opened I made sure to look inside the owners manual to see if everything was there and everything was but the carrying bag for PSU. All cables, owners manual and a safety manual.

Our PSUs have not had the felt bags for over a year now due to supplier issues. As for the seals being cut and new stickers placed over the old one that is due to rework. Essentially if we have to much of one region specific power supply and not enough of another we will rework the ones with an abundance and swap out the wall cables. Though if for whatever reason you are unsure of the quality of the product we would recommend you contact the retailer you purchased it from and proceed with a return/exchange.
