PGIV
If one module of the pair goes bad, are both returned under the RMA so that I still wind up with a matched pair? Also, what is the max voltage I can run these at (on ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe)? One of the modules is showing errors on MemTest86+ Test 5 (V1.40) or Test 6 (V1.55). The other tests fine. Thanks, PGIV
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 29, 2005 Yes, you should send the RMA for 1 Twinx set and send both modules if they are indeed failing. Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? PGIV
All stock settings (auto). No overclocking. I'm willing to manually set things, however. That's why I asked the max voltage question.... Running a 3.0 GHz Northwood.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 29, 2005 Please try these settings after you load setup defaults. AI Over Clock Tuner: Manual CPU Freq: 200 MHz Memory Frequency: 100%/DDR400 Dim Voltage to 2.75 Volts Resulting Frequency: 200MHz/400DDR Legacy USB: Disabled SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T Then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. PGIV
OK, I set everything as you suggested. I wasn't sure about 'DRAM Burst Length', since you didn't mention it, (my choices are 4 or 8 clocks). I guessed and picked 8 clocks. Using Memtest86+ v1.55 (just released a few days ago), I ran each module through one pass of Memtest+. The 'good' module continued to test good; no errors. The 'bad' module now seems worse than ever. I was getting errors on tests 5, 6, 7 and 8 (a total of 54,401 errors). It looks like I should go for the RMA, or do you recommend I try something else? As long as I have your attention, would you please give me the timings and max voltage for TWINX1024-4000PT on an ASUS P4C800 Deluxe?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 28, 2005 I would suggest Twinx1024-3200XL for best performance, or if you need 2.0 Gig of memory I would suggest Twinx2048-3500LLPro.
