kuba
Well im in the market for some RAM. Found out i've been running PC2700 which is fine, but not up to the MB's capability so ill be dumping my Kingston RAM over to my aunt (ya i said the K word ) and switching over to Corsair. My question is which RAM to get? I would like minimum 512, but tempted to get 1G, but not sure, which one is good for my MB. Im gonna do a search, but would also like first hand response/replies, thanks in advance guys & gals. Been reading in the threads that there have been some problems with Corsair and the deluxe model of my A7N8X...is this something i should be worried about? Jabberwok
Go for the Gb man... I got the cousin mainboard as you & can run it flawlessly with Corsair's TwinX-1024XL. Although you may have to do minor tweaks inside your BIOS but feel free to ask & we will be more than happy to assist you with whatever help you may need ;): Buy with confidence! kuba
wow, those are a bit pricey for me, considering im not great with tweaking and i cant afford something like that right now, i mean, how much of a difference is there really between the ones you mentioned and the "value" type RAM? i wish i would and could get them, but money is sort of an issue for me right now. that's $414US, $340Canadian  http://www.canadacomputers.com/cc/index.php?do=ShowProdList&cmd=pl&id=RAM.178&mfg=CORSAIR this is what i can choose from, local store near me. thanks jabber :):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 29, 2005 I would go with our XMS3200Xl modules for best performance. But our Value Select offer a great price and above average performance just not as good as our XMS modules.
kuba
RAMguy but for someone like myself who doesn't do a lot of gaming, and if i do, it's only really one game...and the value kingston ram i have now is just fine. im assuming corsair's line of value ram should be fine as well. how much difference would i notice? Wired
Between 2700 and 3200? 500 MB/s :) What CPU / FSB / motherboard do you have?
kuba
hi wired my MB is ASUS http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socketa/a7n8x-x/overview.htm ASUS - A7N8X-X CPU AMD Athlon 2500 FSB? front side bus? no idea what you mean by that, but the specs on the MB says its 400mhz. but there you have it so there is a correction, i stated i have the A7N8X initially, but it's actually...the A7N8X-X MB. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 29, 2005 With that CPU you would be limited to DDR333, I would just keep what you have untill you upgrade or if you over clock then I would get our modules.
