abierman
Hi, I bought 2 identical 1G DDR400 PC3200 DIMMs and one of them is bad. Model number is CM72SD1024RLP-3200. If I install the bad DIMM (alone or with any other configuration), upon booting the ASUS P4C800-E motherboard just beeps 3 times, over and over, which means "bad memory module". If I install the other identical DIMM (alone or in any other configuration) it works fine. I just want to get this replaced by Corsair, since the vendor won't replace it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 28, 2005 I am sorry but this MB would not be compatible with this MB, as it's a registered ECC module. And this MB will not use registered memory. I would see if the reseller can help you get this replaced for CMX1024-3200 or if you need 2.0 Gig I would suggest Twinx2048-3200. If they will not or cannot help you, you can ask our customer service if they can get that module replaced. But we do not sell direct and changing to another part# is not easy to do. How come 1 module works fine and the other doesn't work at all? It seems to me that if the memory type was incompatible then 2 identical DIMMs would both behave the same way. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 28, 2005 Please check your user manual, as it clearly states un-buffered memory. Sorry but that is all I can tell you.
