dpc179
I put together my system with an athlon AMD64 53-FX with 2 sticks of 512 Corsair Twinxl ram, 600 watt ps, 256mb BFG 6800 Ultra, and for some reason, when I run games such as World of Warcraft and Half Life 2, after about 15 min or so, the whole system shuts down, totally. I think it may be the ram settings, I have tried the default and 2.5-3-6-3... any help would be appreciated.

jsteel44
how are your temps?
dpc179
Temps are low, my processor is liquid cooled, and is currently 75 F and the rest are at normal temps. So im guessing its the ram timings?

dpc179
Try these settings: CAS Latency: 2 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 2 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5 memory voltage: 2.8 volts I tried those settings. It worked fine for a little longer than 15 min, then once again, shut down... :(: Im positive its not the processor overheating... and nor is it the video card overheating. Any other suggestions? Thanx.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 29, 2005 What bios version do you have installed and what do you have the dim voltage set to?
dpc179
What bios version do you have installed and what do you have the dim voltage set to? The most updated bios version from the auto update from Asus... but now, for some reason when I try to reboot my machine, I get the BSOD. Currently I set everything back to default. I am concidering returning the RAM for a different brand at this point...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 30, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 30, 2005 Please go to bios setup and load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts and then exit saving changes and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. But the latest bios is Ver 1.011 Beta 5, if you have a 90 nm CPU I would suggest you update to this bios and try the same thing again as above.
