ApeMan
OK I bought an ASUS P4R800-VM motherboard. For ram it says "RAM: 4x DIMM for DDR400/333/266 Max 4GB " So I bought this ram: Corsair Value Select (Dual Pack) 184 Pin 512MBx2 DDR PC-3200 - OEM In my motherboard I have 4 slots for ram. I have 2 blue slots and 2 black slots. I have tried the ram in every possible combination you can think of, computer turns on works etc. It constantly crashes, why do I think it is the ram you may ask. Well because when I just use 512 ram, it works, but when I use both sticks my games just randomly close... my computer will randomly restart sometimes... never has happened with just 1 stick... only with both. Wired
That memory is double sided. http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=P4R800-VM Note: Supports one single-sided PC3200 (DDR400) DIMM per channel only Per the manual: This motherboard may only detect PC2700 (DDR333) system memory when you install two PC3200 (DDR400) DIMMs in one channel or when you install double-sided PC3200 (DDR400) DIMMS. That would do it. Try setting the memory to 333 Mhz, and place them in either both blue slots, or both black slots.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 28, 2005 Please check the user manual for the bios section, and there will be setting called memory Frequency or memory frequency ratio that you would set for the memory frequency. Wired
The difference is that it's a bit slower, however that's because of a limitation of your motherboard that it has to be run like that.
