tommyz2kool
a few days ago, I started experiencing random restarts, so I ran memtest to see if anything was up. I'm using I gig of twinx cmx512-3200xlpt, pt # xms3208v1.1 I've run memtest with both sticks using the auto settings and at 2-2-2-5 at 2.8v and always fail at test #5, 67%, 32 errors. in fact I completely lock up and have to restart my computer at that point. my question to you is that since this is supposed to be matched pair of modules, I have to send both of them in to get a matched pair back...but I dont have any back up ram. can you guys put a hold on my card and ship first?? or can I send in one stick at a time? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 25, 2005 Can you tell me the make and model of MB and the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
tommyz2kool
Can you tell me the make and model of MB and the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? Asus A8N SLI deluxe, A64 3500+. this system is used for 3d modelling mostly, and some gaming, so it needs to be super stable. I dont overclock at all, and all the cpu memory options are set to auto. the only thing I've changed was increase the vdimm to 2.8. I also manually set the ram timings to 2-2-2-5, but kept getting the same errors on memtest. not sure if random reboots are a ram related problem, but I had these same sticks in a previous system and it had all sorts of problems which I always thought was motherboard related (thats why I upgraded)

tommyz2kool
so since this is a twinx matched pair of modules, do I send in both and get a matched pair back?
