fx55guy
I have 1 gig of PC3200XL and it always fails test 6 at the exact spot everytime I run Memtest. I have tried running at stock speed and looser timings with the same results. Running 1 stick, it's fine and can overclock quite a bit. I have an FX-55 and MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. My PSU is an PCP&C 510 turbo cool deluxe. This problem started when I rma'd my Asus board a few month ago. I ignored the problem because everything in Windows was fine. I had no stability problems. Just a few days ago, my Asus died and bought this MSI board and still have the exact same problem. I have vdimm set to 2.75 and have tried 2.8 and 2.85 with no luck. fx55guy
I think I'll keep mine for now. It does run very stable and overclocks extremely well. So until I get instability, I'll keep them.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 28, 2005 You might check for the latest bios, but we will be happy to replace them if needed.
fx55guy
I've been getting some random reboots lately so I went back to do some more testing on the ram. I set everything to stock in bios. I ran memtest and got errors in test 6 again at the same spot as before. Then I set timings to 3-4-4-8 2T. Memtest passed test 6 without errors. Then I set timings to 2-2-2-5 2T and set a 1:2 divider so memory ran at DDR200. I get those errors again. I know it isn't motherboard related because the same thing happened in my other board of a different brand. If I do RMA these sticks, how long will it take? I'm going to need to use this computer because I have a school project due in few weeks and I can't afford to not use my computer for that long. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 31, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 31, 2005 Did you have the Dim Voltage set to 2.8 Volts? If not I would try that and see if that helps. If not we can sure try replacing your modules. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! fx55guy
I have filled out the form for an rma. But how do I package the ram? I can't find the original container it came in.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 31, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 31, 2005 I would just use an Anti Static bag and put them in a small box.
fx55guy
The 2 sticks was delivered to Fremont on 4/8 at 9:49AM according to my fedex tracking number. Should I have received an email by now about the rma?
