szymaq
Hi there, Is there any problem with using this headset on linux (ubuntu)? I prefer to ask before buying :)
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted October 10, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 10, 2019 Our headsets are not supported on Linux. The only headsets we manufacture that would work would be ones with 3.5mm headphone jacks but that still relies on your onboard audio or audio card supporting Linux. Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted October 10, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 10, 2019 We do not have any Linux driver support so there is no guarantee you will be able to get it to work.

LuckyMcBeast
I've been using the HS70 on Linux for over a year. Used it on both Arch and Void with only the help of pulseaudio. Works great, pretty much plug and play. There is one thing to note though, and this is important if you are dual booting or use the headset on a Windows or Mac as well:It appears that iCUE installs some firmware on the headset that renders it useless on Linux. If you plan to use it on Linux, avoid iCUE on other machines. If you do end up in the situation where you did install iCUE and it made your headset in operable on Linux based systems, you can fix this issue by: connecting the headset to a machine that has iCUE on it uninstalling iCUE rebooting with the headset receiver still connected then connecting to the Linux machine you want to use it on (at least that worked for me 😀) To Corsair: It's a real shame you don't support Linux. Truthfully, it wouldn't be that difficult as there are an army of FOSS devs out there that would be happy to contribute if you made iCUE open source. Linux isn't as small of a market as some might perceive and that market is full of hardcore tech enthusiast who love buying hardware 😉 Food for thought
