Recommended Posts

Hi I was digging through my computer junk and forgot I had 2 sticks of corsair memory that were bad and never rma'd them (forget why) well I showed my friend and he is like those 2 sticks are bh5 man! So I am wondering if I rma these can you replace them with winbond chips still? I even still have the original packaging it came in (not in this picture though) from 3 or 4 years ago. Can this be replaced?

Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

So I am not clear on what you are doing. So when you have 3 modules 1 Twinx512-3200LL and one CMX512-3200LL you get corrupt files, is that correct? And have you tried testing the modules one at a time and did you set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 Volts? In addition, as you add more memory there will be more loading on the CPU and chipset, you might try and lower the CPU multiplier and see if that helps. If not I would try testing the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to make sure one is not failing.

No im using another pair of twinx 3200 right now in my computer as im typing this, heh. I have another pair of CMX3200 that I found in an old mobo box I stored away and put them in this computer and they start to corrupt files and whatnot. I remember memtesting them and I got errors along time ago. I was just asking if I sent them in for rma would I get bh5 chips back or would you send something different?

Oh I see, well I cannot answer that except to say we will replace them with the same or faster part#. You can ask customer Service if they know what part# you would get back on monday. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
