Wired
Actually, YES, there is a need to say something. Ram Guy can't read your mind, nor is he there with you, so he does not know if the memory is bad or not. How are you determining it / they are bad? What CPU / FSB / Motherboard do you have? What is the exact part # and revision # of your memory? How To Read the Memory Label If you have more than one stick: Is it a TwinX pack? If not, what is the revision # of each stick? Did you test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 23, 2005 Can you tell me the part# of the module and the reason you think is failing?
Wired
Looky hear i know its bad im certified to work and repair computers ive built countless and i dont have time for this. I need the little # so i can rma and be on my way. Then you know the reverse. You've had people come to you about PC problems stating that part X has to be the problem, but you ask them questions and t/s it anyway, because it may not be that part. Both Ram Guy and myself are simply asking you why you think it is bad. If RMAs were given out to everyone on the simple basis that they thought their memory was bad then a lot of RMAs would be done for no reason, both wasting Corsair's time as well as a consumer's time. Wired
Sorry, but an RMA won't help you. CMX512R-3200C2 is REGISTERED memory, which is not compatible with that motherboard.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 24, 2005 Wired is correct, The MB you have needs un-buffered memory. Please ask your reseller or distributor for the same module with no "R" or "RE" in the part#.
