Benchmark Problems with TwinX1024-3200XL & Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe

Recommended Posts

Hello together,

I've got a very special problem because I can't make a benchmark with programs like AIDA32, Everest, Sandra or ScienceMark.

I think I tried all posibilities (changing timing, voltage, etc.) but it still happens when I try to make a benchmark in auto mode with 200MHz. I believe that the problem don't related with the parameters in the bios.

It seems to be, that no one can help with it becuase I can start normal programs and games without any problems. I can even start video coding (mpg to avi) or RAM deafrg sevgeral hours without a crash but my system reboots WITHOUT bluescreen or just hang when I make a benchamrk test.

But in fact the problem is not there when I put both ram modules in the right banks (Single Channel).

I have this components in my pc:

Asus A8N-Sli Deluxe & AMD64 3200+ (tried several bios versions)

TWINX1024-3200XL (Dual Channel)

MSI NX6600GT

Creative Soundblaster Player 5.1.!

DLink Network Card

DLink DWL-G520#

Enermax 465W with a 20pin cable without adapter

2x Maxtor Diamond 9 as Raid Array on the Silicon Image Controller

I tried to rum MEMTEST for Windows for at least 8 hours and there wasn't an error during this time.

Can someone help me? Is there a problem with the memory controller or is it maybe a software bug?

I hope that you can understand my "german" english.. :)

Thank you very much for help!

Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? And I am pretty sure that you should be using a ATX 2.0 Complint PSU with this MB, but please check the user manual or with ASUS to be sure.

Hello,

thank you for your answer! I could solve the problem! It seems to be, that the RAM only run pretty when I set 2.6 or 2.65V with 2T Command.

Now my rams runs stable at 2-3-3-6 @ 230MHz = 2300MHz instead of 2000

But thank you for your support!

That might suggest a power problem, can you test the modules in another system. I as i remember you should be using an ATX 2.0 Compliant PSU with this MB as well and the one you have I do not think meets this spec.
