So i ended up having my disconnects coming back after a few days, and in worse fashion.

It would disconnect all USB devices at once this time.

Reminder im running the X570-P board and Icue is on version 3.28.70.

Only one Commander /w attached RGB hub.

So I uninstalled all USB drivers in Device Manager till i couldn't use anything. Then just used the power button to restart the PC and let windows reinstall all the USB drivers on boot up.

Some items needed a fresh install like my audio based stuff but otherwise,

As of 4/23 at 10pm i have had no disconnects from any USB device.

Ill post back here if that changes.

Tried this without success. It's a shame that we have to look to buy a product elswhere in order to make this system work. So much Corsair in my build and I thought it would sync up beautifully. Smh

Bumping my comment from a sister thread:

The NZXT hub has not arrived but its equivalent did:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Preliminary results:

No disconnects yet; see iCue log excerpt:

2020-04-27T16:15:11 I cue.devices: Device insertion processing complete for Commander Pro (vid=1b1c, pid=c10)

The above is the initialization completing. Prior to using the hub, you could search the log file for device insertion and see it re-initializing repeatedly. So far so good as this event has not re-occurred in the 30 mins I've been gaming. Albeit, more testing is required, but prior disconnects were pretty frequent.

Notes:

This hub uses SATA power while NZXT apparently uses molex\4-pin. which is nice. Also, power is not really required if just running CoPro off it, it will draw sufficient power from MB USB head. I will connect SATA power if perhaps drops occur again just to rule that out. Also, build quality on this did far exceed what I expected. I was apprehensive about putting it into my build with thousands of dollars worth of gear until I saw how decently it was made.

Notes** after five hours uptime I’ve seen no other instances of device insertion in icue logs nor has my usb event monitor triggered am unplug/plug event. Will continue to monitor overnight.

No further drops overnight. iCue logs look good and USB event viewer is clear. Im really curious how and why this works.. But it does.

I'm posting here despite not having iCUE or a CP. I do however have an ASUS x570 prime pro and the exact same USB disconnect issues. For me it happens like crazy any time I try to charge my phone or transfer files to an external hard drive.

This is an x570 Prime Pro problem, and It's insane that anyone would have to buy an NZXT usb hub to have usable USB ports on an x570 board.

I have contacted ASUS support and will try to update the thread.

I too am having this issue and everything was running perfect in my system for over a year until I placed the Commander Pro and 6 LL120 fans in my system.

System Specs

ASUS PRIME X570-PRO

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

32 Gb G.SKILL F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC

EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Video Card # 2Edit Value

1 Tb ADATA SX8200PNP

2 Tb Seagate ST2000LX001-1RG174

EVGA 750 G+ PSU

LG 32GK850G

Windows 10 (1909)

So from what I gather ASUS and Corsair will point fingers at each other. Does the internal USB Hub actually fix the issue? If so the purchase price is worth it vs the time I've spent on this issue. I should have come here 5 weeks ago.

I wonder if we should be using different USB ports on the Motherboard. I remember having to think where to plug the AIO. Whether it belonged in the AIO Cooler USB or the CPU. I'm surprised this issue hasn't been fixed yet. I check Icue and Aura/Armoury Crate for updates on the daily... smh

It may be an AMD chipset issue, it may be an ASUS on AMD issue, I'm not sure. What I do know is that I see a ton of folks on AM4 ASUS platforms with this problem. I think this issue occurs on newer AMD chipsets, particularly ASUS, when any power hungry USB device is used. When I try to charge my usb-c phone the disconnects happen almost continuously it's so fast. With my external hard drive, it only happens when I try to transfer large files. On the other hand my low power devices (mouse, keyboard etc) almost never have any issues.

Yeah, probably something happening with amd chips.

Thanks for your investigations mate. Let's see if Asus or Corsair find a fix.

Made an account to hopefully help someone. My newly build system was working fine until last week when it crashed while loading Apex.

Specs:

Gigabyte Auros x570 elite

Ryzen 7 3800x

Corsair H100i Platinum

5 Corsair LL120

Commander pro

Asus Pce-68u wifi card

I wont bore you with my looong process of eliminatoin (there was also some manly crying involved), I changed my power plan to High Performance in power&sleep setting and voila!!! no more disconnecting and reconnecting and everything works as it should. Hope this might help some of you at least.

I've played with settings before and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. Keep us updated if it ever disconnects again.

My pc was working fine until last week when it crashed after I opened Apex Legends, windows basically crashed and wouldnt boot (not even into safe mode, had to make a recovery usb using my surface Pro 4 but after that my wifi card wasnt connecting (could find my ssid but wouldnt connect to it) and I had the whole connect/disconnet of my cooling jig (both fand and the cpu cooler). Then I noticed that I get a fast pop up with 'surfaceservice.exe' every time I start window and I suspected maybe its acting weird coz its sort of handling my pc as a surface tablet, which led me to change my power setting that seemed like it fixed everything.

Today Apex crashed again and my second m.2 dissapeared again, so I swaped the place of my two m.2 s (a 250gb kingston a2000 was in slot one with windows on it and a 1TB same model sitting under the gpu). So far so good but I wont be surprised if it happens again.

Kingston SSd manager says my drives are healthy, the whole cooling seems to be working fine now though, the only thing is my three intake LL120 fans run a bit fast on quiet mode (the 2 fans on H100i run slown and nice on quiet mode though) but not a huge problem.

After installing a usb 2.0 header hub and connecting my CoPro to it I’ve had 72hrs system uptime with zero disconnects. Using USBLogView to monitor usb events and reviewing icue logs daily for CoPro insertion and initialization. All clear on my end.

Another newbie to the forum to post up after experiencing the USB disconnects

Build:

Asus Prime X-570 Pro

AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Super 3X

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16gb RAM (2 x 8)

6 x Corsair LL120 Fans

Corsair Commander Pro

Corsair RMX 850W

Corsair 465X

This is my first build, completed 2 days ago, and all seemed well initially but then I started to experience random USB interrupts mainly on the I/O interfaces (keyboard, mouse and headset) and then less often with the LL120 fans.

I did a lot of head scratching and looked at power settings, USB bus reinstalls etc but to no avail.

Looks like I'll be buying a NZXT hub (sold out in most places but found a seller in Germany via Ebay).

Seems like there's a common factor in all of these posts, the Commander Pro (and less so the X570 chipset). Interesting to see so many posts on this issue (not just on this forum) so hopefully something can be done about it at some point.

I'll update on the thread if the NZXT hub fixes the issue for me.

Hey, shame we have to deal with this eh? I went ahead and ordered this since the NZXT hub is hard to get; Micro Connectors S08-303-IA - Acrylic Internal USB 2.0 Hub with Magnetic Base.

It was actually a nice piece of hardware and it uses sata power not molex like NZXT. It’s been working in my machine for more than 72hrs uptime with no issue. Just a thought if you’re struggling to find the NXZT device.

I actually ordered both and that one got here first. I was worried it would be off brand garbage but the build quality and sata connection surprised me so much I went ahead and used it.

Reporting here that I installed the NZXT hub. Connected the NZXT HUB to my USB socket on MB and the commander PRO to the NZXT hub. No usb connected to the commander pro. No issues for the last 24hrs. It's been great!!!!

Had the same issue too with an X570 Prime Pro mobo. Random disconnect sounds from the Commander Pro at random intervals. Just installed the NZXT hub too and will let you know if it helped.

Absolutely ridiculous from Corsair/ASUS that this problem has been around for at least since september and they still didn't fix it. As a solution they force you to pay an extra 25$ to a different manufacturer to get some product of them to work properly which should be working in the first place...

Thanks for the updates. Guess I'm ordering it today. Shame on Corsair/Asus for this faultiness though. Glad we have some sort of "fix"
